I graduated from Valliant High School in1980 then attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University graduating in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. In 1997 I obtained my Master’s of Education degree in School Counseling from East Central University.
I began working at Wilson Public Schools during the 1989 – 1990 school year. During the first 23 years I taught middle school science and coached softball. The past 7 years I have served as the school counselor. It has been a very rewarding career and I am thankful for all the students and staff I have had the pleasure to work with.
My first teaching position was at Wright City, Oklahoma teaching science, health, and coaching junior basketball and track in 1984 – 85. I then moved to Clarksville, Texas where I taught HS science and coached junior high volleyball, basketball, and track for the school year 1985 – 86. For the next 3 years I did some substitue teaching in Clarksville, but spent most of my time at home with Shane and Ty.
I have been blessed with three beautiful children, all of which graduated from Wilson High School and Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
Shane teaches science and coaches football and softball at Washington High School and is married to the wonderful Lauren who is a mental health therapist. They are in the process of adopting a beautiful baby girl!
Ty works for the National Parks Service at the Grand Canyon and is married to his wonderful wife Ashlee who is teaching at the Grand Canyon MS/HS.
Bree recieved her doctorate degree from Texas Women’s University and is a physical therapist in Colorado Springs.
I also have a sweet little cat called bad, bad, binxy.
I love to spend time with my family and friends, especially doing things outdoors like camping, hiking, going to softball games, SCUBA, skiing, bonfires and cookouts. I have a passion for travel and go every chance I get. I like to relax at home listening to music on my turntable or reading.
